Some Examples of Human Givens exposure and usage in the NHS and related areas

Although taught for only ten years and somewhat unconventional in its approach, the Human Givens is in fact mainstream.  This is shown by the amazing speed of acceptance in such a short period of time.

• In Milton Keynes, a NHS group for those using HG has been established under Dr Farouk Ochai (consultant psychiatrist).
• A Midlands Primary Care Trust is going over to an explicit HG approach.
• In Hartelpool, a Mind project based explicitly on the Human Givens is now successfully treating hundreds of people annually who are suffering serious mental distress.
• PRIMHE conference on Mental Health in January 2006 attended by over 150 health professionals and with the keynote address by Professor Louis Appleby was also addressed by Joe Griffin (one of HG founders)
• Mindfields seminars are attended by around 8000 NHS staff annually. The HG Diploma was started in April 2000. There are now 300 Diploma graduates and 120 post graduates.
• How to Overcome Depression Fast by Joe Griffin and Ivan Tyrell is an Amazon best seller.
• Wiley Books has identified the Human Givens approach as the next effective therapy to supersede CBT and will be promoting it globally.
• Department of Health has sent out to selected GPs a Emotional Needs Audit form to test run, explicitly based on the Human Givens approach.
